Many of you have likely heard the wonderful voice of Kierstyn Cross who sings the National Anthem at the Cougars Games. She has been singing the Anthem since she was 9 years old and this is her fourth year singing with the Cougars. Kierstyn was born in Peterborough, Ontario, daughter of Lisa Gibbs and Andrew Cross and lives here in Northumberland County. Her love of music was revealed at an early age; she loved the stage and performed from age 5. She has appeared in Pop, Disney and Broadway Music. In January 2009 she had her first performance with a Country band and her love of Country Music. Kierstyn's future goals are to record her second CD and to expand on her music theory and instrumental learning, her passion for singing and her enthusiasm to explore new venues will keep her going on her exciting musical journey. The cougars are blessed to have her as part of our organization! Thank you Kierstyn! THE COUGARS WOULD LIKE TO ALSO THANK PETE CAMPBELL FOR SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AT OUR RINK THIS SEASON, ALONG WITH C.R. GUMMOW SCHOOL AND TERRY FOX SCHOOL. |

Thank you to the Town of Cobourg for your continued Support!

PLAYOFFS
Please come out and cheer on your Cougars ... your attendance makes a HUGE difference! We are 6th in the league out of 31 teams for highest attendance! Thank you Cougar Fans for your support!
The Cougars are guaranteed the 2 out of 3 first round with home ice advantage meaning we will have two games the week of February 14th ... (dates to be announced)
Here is how the playoffs will work this season:
The top three teams in the East and the top three teams in the South will get a 'Bye' while the next 'four highest teams in the East and South Combined will play a first round best 2 out of 3 for the final two spots in the 8 team final playoffs.
You will notice that some teams with more points in the East will end up eliminated even though they have more points and wins than the top teams that received a 'Bye' in the South division. Just to clarify, this is indeed how it unfortunately will work this year.
The Cougars 2 out of 3 series will be played between February 14th and 20th. Announcements will be made to verify dates but it may be short notice so please keep the Cougars penciled in for the mini-series the week of February 14th because we need our fans support!
