Cobourg Cougar Day @ the Cobourg Public Library from 10am until 2pm. Players will be on hand to assist staff, read stories, sign
autographs. Kids bring those Cougars Hockey Cards!

We are all geared up and getting excited about our new State-of-the-Art Community Centre!
The Cougars new home will consist of a 2000 - seat - Bowl seating rink with an additional 400 seat practice arena, an awesome 8 sided full colour video score board, a Mini-stick play area for the kids, a state-of-the-Art Running Track overlooking the rink and grounds, a double gymnasium, WiFi Wireless and much more in this 142,000 sq. ft. facility!

Well the Cougars are off to a great start this season tied in first place with 8 points apiece with Wellington Dukes. We have had a few new signings recently:

Keenan Brown was signed recently with the Peterborough Petes so taking his place on the Cougars Roster is Kristoff Lyons.

Cougars win big again at home

COBOURG -- The Cobourg Cougars put on another good show Monday night for their hometown fans. They
scored early-- taking the first lead for the fifth straight game -- and
often in a 9-1 rout over the struggling Toronto Jr. Canadiens before
321 in attendance at the Cobourg Memorial Arena. The victory was
Cobourg's third straight, all coming on home ice, after opening the
Ontario Junior A Hockey League season with a pair of losses on the
road. The Cougars improved to 3-2-0 while the Jr. Canadiens remain
winless at 0-5-0. "We
have 25 games here (at Memorial Arena) and we want to win them all,"
said Cougars forward Blake Sexton, who enjoyed a five-point night with
two goals and three assists. "It was a great turnout for the home
opener and the past couple games. The fans here are really good." Sexton, now in his second stint with the Cougars, has played here before, so he's well aware of the fan support. Two of the newest Cobourg players are settling in well with their new team
Defenceman
Cody Mintz, one of the two 16-year-olds on the roster, scored twice
Monday night, after netting his first junior goal Saturday in another
big win (7-1 over Whitby). "I love playing here, and the boys are
great," Mintz said. "Everyone was a bit down after the first two games,
but the boys are happy now and it's a good start to the season." Mintz
is a prospect of the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves. He
attended their training camp and hoped to stick with the club, but
after being returned to Cobourg, his focus is on having a strong season
