Second Home Owners: Remember to Schedule Your System Checks 
 

A week's advance notice will help ensure Maestro is able to get to your home to make sure everything is running smoothly prior to your arrival. 


It's our theory that technology gets lonely too.  While we aim for our systems to be as reliable as possible, there are inevitable glitches that can happen as a result of everything from software upgrades to unexpected power outages.  Like your car, your home technology requires regular maintenance to optimize its functionality.

Instead of waiting until you arrive, tired and ready to jump in bed and watch a late night show, only to find out something is not working...  let us know you're coming and we'll stop by your place to dust off the cobwebs, chase away the gremlins, and help make your arrival seamless (at least from a technology perspective).

If you're still under the warranty period for your system, these system checks are included free of charge.  If you are no longer under warranty, contact us for pricing.  You can also let us know if you're interested in a maintenance agreement.


Last Minute Gifts for the Holidays! 

 

 

iPad: We know, we know.  This is so last season.  However, we feel that it's finally starting to mature and prove its worth (while some love being the first to get something, we prefer to advocate proven solutions...).

In addition to being able to run your house through Control4 on your iPad, you can also access Sonos, Rhapsody, and of course, iTunes.  Call us to find out more!

Streaming Video Sources: There are multiple "boxes" you can add to your system to access downloadable movies (both current releases and thousands of classics and other movies) and a "bazillion" other apps.  There's Apple TV, Vudu, Blu-ray players, and specific TV models with internet access.  Depending on which solution you choose, you can even access your own photo albums through Flicker or Picasa (and therefore be able to entertain your friends with slide shows on your TV), you can tune into almost endless internet radio stations, and do fun (in our opinion, at least) things like watch lectures given by Princeton professors, and more!  Call us to discuss what content you're interested in and we can recommend which solution might be your best bet, based on your existing system.

Cox Cable Reminder 
 

Here's a reminder of the content from our last email, in case you haven't gotten to this yet.  This is how Cox's upgrade to an all-digital platform may affect you:

  • Any television in your household that is not currently connected to a cable box will need one if you want to continue getting cable on that TV.
     
  • Cox is offering two boxes for free per household. You will need to lease additional boxes if you need more than two. You can pick up the boxes yourself, schedule Cox to install them for you for free, or have Maestro pick up the boxes and install them for you.
     
  • If you have specialized racks for your AV equipment and want the new boxes installed in the racks, call Maestro to schedule an appointment.
     
  • If you have universal remotes and/or a home automation system, your system will need to be programmed for the new boxes.

Cox may not have boxes available immediately when you call, so plan ahead and call them as soon as possible to reserve yours!  Also, if you need Maestro to make adjustments to your system for the new boxes, our schedule is pretty tight, so let us know as far in advance as possible.
