A Busy Mom's Kitchen A Minute with Noel |
Greetings!

Greetings!
My favorite thing about October is that Fall is here; I love the cooler weather and being able to eat outside or just open the windows at home. Its so nice and fun! Fall is such a great time of year and I hope you all are enjoying it just as much as I am. The holiday season is upon us and this is the start to beauty within nature and wonderful weather!
So far this month, we have talked chili, bread bowls, and soup. Now that my appetite has been satisfied by those delicious, frugal fall comfort foods, I want to share with you some of my all-time favorite desserts.
These are not just any desserts, but hot desserts, to be served warm and gooey. They pair perfectly with coffee, tea, and good company!
If you have some great soup recipes, I would love to share them on the blog next week. Simply email me your recipe and permission to use it on the blog. If you have a photo, send that as well.
I hope you can take these ideas that I have shared with you on family, food, fall decorating and entertaining, and run with them and create wonderful memories this fall season in your own home--inside and out, without breaking your budget. See you in the kitchen! Noel

Family Time

Celebrate More Birthdays!
I wanted to take a moment and share with you an exciting event happening this month. I've briefly mentioned this in my past newsletters, so in case you missed it, this October 17th, I will be walking in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Sacramento. I am walking to raise money and help make a difference and help create a world of more birthdays!
Today, there is more hope than ever for people facing breast cancer. However, there is much work to be done to find promising new treatments, increase awareness about the importance of mammograms, help all women get access to screenings and care, and connect those impacted by the disease with the information, day-to-day help, and emotional support they need to wage their battle against breast cancer.
I believe that hope for a world without breast cancer starts with me. That?s why I'm walking in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. Not only is this my opportunity to join my community to fight back against breast cancer, it is a way to inspire hope by raising funds and awareness to help those facing the disease and to save more lives.
You can be a part of it, too!
I have signed up to walk and hope you will join me in my effort by signing up to join my team, Babes For Boobs or making a donation in support of my participation. Hope starts with us.

You can also purchase Limited Edition Pink products for your kitchen during the month of October. For every pink product purchased, Pampered Chef will donate a $1.00 to the American Cancer Society. Get your Limited Edition Pink Products HERE: |
Tips From The Kitchen: A Desperate Housewife Pressed for Flavor!
Our Garlic Press is featured in the October issue of Redbook magazine. On page 256, actress and restaurant owner Eva Longoria Parker shares her kitchen favorites including this: "I love my garlic press from The Pampered Chef®."
Fresh garlic is so flavorful, but trying to peel and mince it can leave an odor on your hands. Our Garlic Press is so well-designed that it will make cooking with fresh garlic easy. The October issue of Redbook is available on newsstands now, so be sure to check it out!
* Pressing fresh garlic releases more of its essential oils, resulting in a sharper, bolder flavor. * No peeling is required with garlic! Insert clove with skin and squeeze. * Add garlic to melted butter, cream cheese, or just on top of a pizza crust for added flavor. * Crush fresh, peeled gingerroot to use in stir-fry.

Featured Recipe: October is National Apple Month!
Sliced apples, caramel topping and crunchy peanuts top a giant sugar cookie for this classic recipe. |
The apple is world's one of the most popular fruits. It is known for its wonderful taste as well as its high nutritional value. It is a popular low-calorie snack. It can be eaten any time of the day in its original form or juice form. It is used for preparing a variety of food recipes such as milk shakes, fruit salad and desserts. Apples are processed to produce various products such as applesauce, apple juices, or dehydrated apple products. As apple provides a number of health benefits, it is recommended to eat an apple everyday for good health.
Ingredients:
1 package (18 oz) refrigerated sugar cookie dough 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter 3 medium Granny Smith apples 1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping 1/2 cup peanuts, chopped
Preheat oven to 350°F. Shape cookie dough into a ball and place in center of Large Round Stone; flatten slightly. Using lightly floured Baker's Roller®, roll out dough to a 14-inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick. Bake 16-18 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes. Carefully loosen cookie from baking stone using Serrated Bread Knife; cool completely on baking stone.
Combine cream cheese, brown sugar, peanut butter and vanilla in Small Batter Bowl; mix well. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over cookie.
Peel, core and slice apples using Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer. Cut apple slices in half and arrange evenly over cream cheese mixture.
Microwave ice cream topping on HIGH 30-45 seconds or until warm; drizzle evenly over apples. Chop peanuts using Food Chopper; sprinkle over apples. Cut into wedges.

Cook's Tips: Use the Jar Opener to open the jar of caramel ice cream topping with ease.
The Large Spreader is handy for spreading the cream cheese mixture over the cooled cookie. Our Small Spreader works equally well for spreading frosting and thick glazes over baked goods.
Dip apples in lemon-lime flavored carbonated soda or lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.
Add a touch of spice to this dessert pizza by sprinkling ground cinnamon over the apple slices in Step 3 using the Flour/Sugar Shaker.
