Dear :

The past year of serving as Chair of the Board has truly been an honor. The Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis has continued to have a measurable impact in our community.  We've helped over a thousand families move closer to economic independence through the Memphis HOPE program.  We've identified new opportunities to expand the reach of HOPE initiatives through health care, education and career training.  HOPE gives promise to women and children - hope of breaking the cycle of poverty and increasing self-reliance.  The Foundation has also served 12,350 women and children through partnership with our 33 grantee organizations.  Our Board of Directors gladly welcomes the challenges ahead on the road to a greater Memphis.  Working together, we have the vision and the energy to make it happen.  Thank you for your partnership and support.

We asked and you said YES!  Your gift helped us meet our 2010-2011 Annual Fund goal of $1,309,433!  The entire community, including board members, volunteers, staff, foundations and corporate funders, came together for the purpose of providing economic self-sufficiency for women and children. We thank Hyde Family Foundations for continuing to motivate new and returning donors with the $50,000 Challenge Grant.  Thanks to Urban Strategies, Inc. who presented a gift of $125,000 at our Annual Meeting on June 16, 2011 and honored WFGM with the inaugural Stellar Leader Award.

The  Development Committee and I appreciate everyone for contributing to our Campaign success.  We look forward to working together to strengthen and empower women and children across Memphis. We invite you to continue to support the Women's Foundation

A Bridge of Hope - Changing Lives One Person at a Time

"The Women's Foundation's support made the Women's Self-Sufficiency and Leadership Program possible. They believed in a project like ours that was developed to answer a major need and to address issues that people weren't talking about."

 - Kimberly Benson, Co-Founder and President

Kimberly Benson with Mentees

Kimberly Benson and her mentees

Kimberly Benson and her husband Daryl founded A Bridge of Hope in 2007 to provide abuse recovery services to clients of agencies that were already in existence.  Since that time, the organization has blossomed into helping people discover purpose in their lives. With a passion for people, Kimberly Benson works tirelessly to help restore people through education, edification, empowerment, equipping and enhancement of their personal lives.

Staffed completely by volunteers, A Bridge of Hope's programs assist men and women who have been abused, abandoned, addicted, incarcerated, homeless or involved in human trafficking. The organization's volunteers help their clients get re-established, re-unified, and re-entered into a life of promise and future of hope.
