Testimonials

"It's been a while since I encountered such superb client service in any area of business or life. Lynn is incredibly patient, super responsive, AND can translate insurance lingo.

She is also friendly and genuine without being intrusive, overly chatty or fake, navigating the sometimes challenging boundary between professionalism and human interest with natural ease."

Greetings!     Lynn Caffrey

Don't  report us to the newsletter police, but we are very late getting our broadcast out this month. We may have been too busy (a good thing) or too lazy (a bad thing), but we are late in any case.  While you're sleeping off the turkey torpor and enjoying the leftovers and shopping frenzy, please accept this as our best effort to stay in touch and let you know we care a lot about you, and we are grateful that you are here. Thank you and please read on.

We've got big news this month: Gabriel Caffrey has earned his California insurance license! He is interested in hearing from small groups, particularly innovative tech companies just getting started in the world. We look forward to the growth of the company and our clientele.

If we can help your health in any way, we would be glad to run a complimentary comparison quote analysis on your existing policies.  If you're seeking a comparison on your individual and family coverage, you can also
go to our website and run a quick quote to see some options. We're glad to run these as well but the website can be a time saver for you.

Re-Framing Your Career

In these times of turmoil, we are dealing, more and more frequently, with self-employed workers who have trouble finding adequate health insurance. In many cases, self-employed professionals have no choice but to seek out individual-only insurance. These policies are generally less comprehensive and more difficult to qualify for than any group coverage.

If you are having difficulty finding the right solution for you, give us a call and let us help you re-frame the questions you may have. We are adept at finding solutions that might not occur to you. Please feel free to call and run your situation by us; we might have ideas for you.

For Medicare Supplement plans, some carriers are allowing an ongoing open enrollment if you switch to a plan of equal or lesser value. But this option ends December 1st. Please contact our office if you wish to consider any changes to your coverage.

What Would Lynn Do?

Q: I am 30 years old and am healthy - now. A few years ago I was successfully treated for cancer. I had surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, none of which were covered by insurance because I didn't have any. However, the State of California paid for it all. I still have no insurance but now I figure I don't need it because I'm healthy. What do you think?

Question Mark

A:  I think you're really taking chances, but here are possibilities that might occur to you:

  1. Apply for an individual plan, but you'd probably be declined.
  2. Count on the State to pay again if something happens, but they might not.

  3. Plan on using clinics in your county.

  4. Find work with benefits even though you are self-employed.
  5. None of the above.

None of the above.

I was pretty alarmed to hear your story. The state paid at least $100,000 for  you, but honestly, I can't see them doing it again when real insurance is available to you very inexpensively.  PCIP, the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, which is for all Californians who have been without insurance for at least 6 months and have a pre-existing condition or have been declined coverage, is affordable and has rich benefits.  Your premium would be $247 a month, probably $50 more than you pay for car insurance.
