The Pain of Losing a Favorite Recipe
Have you ever lost a favorite recipe?  Recently I was grocery shopping and I found a old hand written recipe card for "Nacho Dip" from Peggy in the top of my grocery cart.  Clearly someone had brought their favorite recipe to the store to get the needed ingredients and forgot the recipe in the cart.  I'm sure she wasn't happy when she got home.  If for some reason the person who lost their recipe is reading this, I'm including that lost recipe below!

I have many of my favorite recipes posted on my website and I often fire up my i-pad in the kitchen and refer to the recipe as I cook.  For safe keeping you are welcome to add as many of your favorite recipes to my site under my Recipes From Friends section.  If you have a lot of recipes that you would like to add, contact me and I would even consider creating a page just for you, and named for you, that you could easily add your recipes to and be able to refer to them at any time.  If your friends ask for a copy of a recipe for a dish you've made, you could just refer them to your web page!

If you don't care to do that, I've run across an interesting idea to use a free application, google docs to store recipes.  Not only is it free, but it can be accessed from any computer.  This offers an advantage over software you would install on your computer.

Now for that person who left her recipe in the grocery cart, here it is!

Nacho Dip from Peggy
1 can (15 oz.) shoepeg corn
1 can (16 oz.) black beans (drained and rinsed)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup fresh lime juice
1 Tablespoon chopped jalapeno pepper
1 clove minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cilantro (or to taste)
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/2 cup chopped red pepper
1/2 cup chopped yellow pepper

Mix all ingredients together the night before.  Drain before serving.

Bottom line, if you have recipes that are dear to you, find a way to protect and save them, they can be hard to replace!

Wishing you Good Cooking!
