The Green Schools National Network advances the national green and healthy schools movement by connecting like-minded and passionate education, non-profit, corporate and public sector individuals and organizations.

Congratulations!!! Chi-Hsuan Vita Wang who
has been chosen as one of the 15 semifinalists in the 2011 Music Center Spotlight Visual Arts Program 2D Art Category. Vita's work was selected form over 450 entries to compete as a semifinalist.

Han Bin Yoon's Biography

In May 2011, the cellist Han Bin Yoon was awarded First Prize in the USC Thornton School of Music's Concerto Competition, and in December 2011 he won the school's Inaugural Performance and Presentation Award.  Han Bin will build upon such honors with a March 2012 performance of the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Thornton Symphony, under the baton of James Conlon, and a series of recitals, talks and teaching assignments that he will be performing throughout Southern California in the early months of 2012. Han Bin Yoon has worked with such renowned cellists as Bernard Greenhouse, Anner Bylsma, Ronald Leonard, Eleonore Schoenfeld and Paul Katz.  He currently studies with Ralph Kirshbaum at the USC Thornton School of Music.

Idyllwild Arts Academy is pleased to offer a very special service for our Chinese and Taiwanese families. Chinlee Chang -- fashion design faculty - will be available every Wednesday from 4:00 - 6:00 PST (or 8:00 - 10:00 AM Thursday in China & Taiwan) to field any questions or concerns from Chinese/Taiwanese families about the school or particular students. Naturally, Chinlee may not always have an answer immediately, but she will endeavor to find an answer from the appropriate person and report back in a timely manner. 

 

We are so pleased Chinlee has offered to do this for us and our families. The direct line to reach Chinlee is 951-659-2171, extension 2488.

Tomás Q. Morín, a past fellow at the 2006 Summer Poetry in Idyllwild Festival, was recently awarded the 2012 Honickman Book Prize for his manuscript A Larger Country.

Our Theatre department seniors and faculty just returned from our annual trek to Chicago, Illinois to complete the Unified Auditions for theatre training programs. This year 14 seniors completed 81 auditions from February 5th through the 9th and these students were able to access one of the biggest collections of theatre programs to date.
