We hope this newsletter finds you happy and well in the new year! MR has been as busy as always and we can't believe how fast 2011 has been going. Already, we have had business trips to both Norway and the United States and have had several of our partners come to us in Riesi.
Finally, our newest intern from Northeastern University has arrived, Megan! She started with MR at the beginning of February and is excited to be working in MR's marketing and sales department. In the Bella Sicilia section of this newsletter you can read about her recent trip to Catania.

success. Because of this, many leading companies invest in Italian-made machinery and choose to work with Italian suppliers because of our reputation for precision manufacturing. North American manufacturing industries have made significant progress through these enabling technologies, innovative techniques, and reliable business partners.
Subsea production systems have been employed in various industries for well over a half-century.
Each production system ranges in complexity. Now that the majority of oil and gas field developments have moved into deep water, finding and creating the right solutions to engineer tools capable of descending 600 feet

to 9000 feet deep is essential.
Meccanotecnica Riesi is currently manufacturing fundamental mechanical parts for subsea connection tools. These connection systems and tools are based on standard components and interfaces which provide maximum flexibility during installation.
With the growth of subsea production comes more difficulties. Engineers will meet future challenges and new technologies will be needed. MR's expert engineers are looking to set new standards for the long-term reliability of subsea equipment.
Bella Sicilia - Saint Agatha
Saint Agatha
Last month I was invited to attend the festival of Saint Agatha, the patron saint of Catania. This annual celebration is a three-day event and the festival ends with an all-night procession through the city. I jumped at the opportunity.
We took a coach bus from Riesi and drove past rolling hills, grazing sheep, and miles of farmland until I saw Mount Etna in the distance. I was fascinated by this notorious volcano! I fixed my gaze on her the whole drive.
