EJHS Photography Club teams up with the Save Center
EJHS Photography Club
The East Jessamine High Photography club has an ongoing project with the Jessamine County Save Center. They visit once a month to take pictures of the animals in the hopes that the artful shots will help these animals find a home.
 
WJMS Academic Team make strong showing at Regionals
WJMS logo
The WJMS Academic Team competed in the Governor's Cup Regionals on Saturday at Foley Middle School in Berea. The Quick Recall Team went undefeated to become the Champions. Several studenets medaled in the Written Assessment Competition which resulted in the team placing 1st Place overall.

EJMS held Community of Many Colors Multicultural event
 

EJMS Multicultural FairAre you interested in learning about China, Chili, Mexico, Ireland, Poland, Germany, and more? Those who attended the EJMS Community of Many Colors Multicutural event hand that opportunity. Close to 300 people enjoyed food, pictures, artifacts and more. The evening was sponsored by Mrs. Raybuck, the EJMS library media specials; and sixth grade social studies teachers Mrs. Underwood and Mr. Plouffe.

 

EJHS StudentsEJHS College get a jump on their college education
East Jessamine High and Morehead State University have teamed up to offer the Early College program. East High students took 253 classes this fall, earning 759 hours of FREE college credit! Students are currently enrolled in another 231 classes this spring with the potential to earn an additional 693 FREE college hours. Based upon Morehead State's tuition rates for the 2011-12 school year, those hours would total over $381,000!

JCTC students shine at DECA regional event
  

JCTC DECAThe DECA region 4 event was held at the University of Kentucky on January 25th. Twenty-seven students from Jessamine County competed with five other counties and dominated in every event. JCTC teacher, Rachel Kahly, had this to say, "Not only did they all place, they conducted themselves with  dignity, poise, and confidence.

 

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

TPS students serve at Chamber dinner

Students from The Providence School had an opportunity to provide a service to the community by acting as servers at the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce dinner in January. According to assistant principal, Charlanne Pook, "They did an awesome job!"

 

JCTC & WJMS FCCLAs excel at STAR regionals
WJMS FCCLA

Jessamine County FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) attended a STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Events regional competition on January 22, 2012. Students who came in 1st place will go on to compete at the state competition in Louisville in March. We are so proud of our students!

EJMS Students enter DAR contest 
EJMS DAR
Five East Jessamine Middle School students entered the Daughters of the American Revoluation contest and won first place in their categories. All five students' entries will now be entered into the state competition.
