PAEMST stands for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching. It is a prestigious award that recognizes outstanding contributions of teachers of mathematics and science.

TPS Moves to Wilmore and gets a visit from the Kentucky First Lady

With the start of the 2011-12 school year, The Providence School has a new home in Wilmore. Much work was done to remake the former Jessamine Early Learning Village into an inviting space for Middle and High School students. As an added bonus, the Kentucky First Lady, Jane Beshear, came by on Wednesday, August 24th to meet the students and tour the new facility.

Excellence in Education Awards announced at Opening Day Celebration
EIEwebJessamine County Schools celebrated the beginning of another exciting school year by announcing the 2010-11 Excellence in Education winners at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. The Elementary winners were a collaborative teaching team from Brookside Elementary -- Connie Burton and Stephanie McCracken. Our Middle School winner was Angel Justice from East Jessamine Middle, and our High School winner was Andrea O'Bryan from the Jessamine Career and Technology Center. Congratulations to these fine teachers, all of which will represent Jessamine County for Kentucky Teacher of the Year.

Adult Education Center moves to former TPS location off Catnip Hill
Adult EducationThe Jessamine County Schools Adult Education and Family Literacy program has moved to 200 Computrex Drive, Nicholasville  -- the former Providence School location. Classes are in full swing with daytime hours Monday - Thursday and evening hours available Tuesday-Thursday.

Janet Granada

Janet Granada, principal at East Jessamine High School, was named the 2011 Kentucky SRO Administrator of the Year by KYASRO.

 

Alisha Hall, Wilmore Elementary School fifth grade teacher, was named the 2011 Kentucky D.A.R.E. educator of the Year.
