Behind the Scenes Look at Town Hall
Get a new perspective on Town government operations during a series of daytime sessions designed to promote effective government and citizen participation.
Applications are due March 19 for the second annual L.E.A.D. Academy. It's our version of the citizen academies that some towns offer regarding local government.
Our academy includes six Wednesday sessions beginning in April and ending in June. Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The $125 cost includes lunch each session plus all materials.
Participants will learn first-hand about Town roles, services and resources. They'll also find out how to go about volunteering for Town boards and commissions. Among the topics are public safety, growth management and public infrastructure.

The Importance of Being Counted Did you know that over 15 percent of the Town budget comes from revenues that are based on population?
In mid-March every household in Holly Springs and the nation will receive their census forms in the mail. These forms are to be filled out completely and returned by April 1. The questionnaire has 10 questions and takes only about 10 minutes to complete. Responses are confidential and protected by law.
