Meet Mary Ann Semple Interim Diocesan Resource Center Coordinator

The Interim Diocesan Resource Center
Coordinator is Mary Ann Semple. Here is
her self-introduction. "I am from St.
Matthew's Brecksville, where I have been the Director of Youth Ministry for 5
years. I have 3 children, John (21), Anna (18) and Will (16). Married going on
24 years.
In the past I have been very active in scouts, having led girl scouts, cub
scouts and boy scouts for many years. Before children, I worked for the
Food and Drug Administration in the Center for Veterinary Medicine, where I
coded applications for new drugs, and helped to develop the software for
tracking both the location and status of applications through their review
process.
I would like to work over the next 6 months to clean up and organize the
current resource center as well as to electronically catalog the resources as
they come in, with the eventual goal to catalog all the resources. I will
be working on getting news about the resource library out to all congregations
via church mailings, email and through the blog. I will work toward
providing the diocese with options for future plan and goals regarding the
resources stored at Trinity Commons.
I look forward to meeting and working with people throughout the diocese."

The Festival of Liturgical
Arts of the Western Reserve (FLAWR) is a five-day synthesis of worship,
workshops, discussions and masterclasses for musicians and clergy devoted to
the continual development of their craft. FLAWR was created to bring
together preachers, teachers, musicians, and artists to share their unique
gifts in the creation of liturgies that reflect the beauty and splendor of God.
Worship at FLAWR will
feature a wide variety of liturgical expressions ranging from traditional
Anglican Morning Prayer to Jazz Vespers. Workshops, lectures, and
masterclasses are offered to provide small group sessions focused on specific

Presiding Bishop will lead
2011 Winter Convocation The Presiding Bishop, Katharine Jefferts
Schori, will be our
guest and lead speaker at the 2011 Winter Convocation. Many of you asked
to have
the dates published as soon as possible, so here they are: February 11
and 12,
2011. Location, Holiday Inn French Quarters, Perrysburg, Ohio.
Along Winter Convocation
lines, thanks for the helpful
feedback from so many of you about this year's Unbinding the
Gospel
Winter Convocation. Here's what we learned:
·
Most people found the main speaker very
effective, especially the second half of the morning when we shared and
prayed
with each other.
·
Almost everyone thought the facility was
excellent. Some asked for a more central location in the state, but
acknowledged
that the large open spaces and two pools are great in the middle of the
winter.
·
People valued the fellowship time Friday night
around the pool with good eats and drinks. What a surprise!
·
The afternoon workshops were well received. Some
of you asked for more variety in the offerings.
·
People felt blessed within the worship, and
especially remarked about both the music and Bishop Bowman's sermon,
which is
available at http://www.dohio.org

Thank your customer, tell them how valuable they are to you, but don't go overboard. Insincerity is easy to spot.
