Arches National Park in spring brings morning snow, blasting the mesas. Looking East, red spires rise up before distant mountains, the Canyon of the Colorado River and dozens of vertical cliffs crossing the landscape between them.
Annual grasses once carpeted this land now dominated by a mosaic of juniper, sagebrush and rabbit brush colonies.
