In "Aromatic Aster Study," Matthew experiments with new styles of rendering

wildflowers larger than actual size. This represents how the human eye perceives

wildflowers as intensely focused and defined points of brilliance

within the large prairie landscape.

Wildflowers represent an integral facet of the biological prairie system.

Matthew focuses on painting recognizable wildflower species typically found

hidden amongst the grasses.
