Dear Businesses of Fort Lupton,
I am one of the nine Fort Lupton High school students that qualified to go to the National DECA conference this April, we are working harder than ever trying to raise money for the national conference in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately, the trip to Florida costs $15,000. This is extremely expensive and we are having difficulties raising the money with our determined advisor, Wade Smith, in the hospital for medical reasons. Mr. Smith has always been a key to pushing us forward and without him around, the stress has increased greatly but our determination is also even greater.
The organization of DECA has provided us, as students and future leaders in our community, with the opportunity to develop in both leadership skills and business ethics. We have learned a tremendous amount of information through the organization that will help us succeed in our futures. Attending the national conference in Orlando, will help us expand on that knowledge and provide us with opportunities that few teenagers are lucky enough to have.
We are pushing ourselves and have visited a large number of businesses throughout the community. Even with this support, we are struggling to find enough money to attend the conference in this short amount of time.
We would greatly appreciate any contributions that you would be willing to make. Attending the national conference is an experience that only happens once. We are looking forward to attending the national conference, so that we can not only develop as an individual, but also contribute to the development of our community and school.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Aryn Nash, Senior DECA student, on behalf of the Fort Lupton High School DECA chapter.
