News from the Farm
Hello again! Posy, Cozy and Bo Peep were "banished" to the 1/3 acre side yard of the house after eating the leaves off all my rose bushes as far up as they could reach!
We have baby pigs! Three litters born in one week, outdoors, on pasture--as God intended. Here is a picture of two litters piled together. When they get close to birthing, the mothers gather straw and make nests.
The interns are here! Taylor (Oklahoma), Abby (Missouri), Chris (Vermont) and Misty (Tennessee). Taylor and Chris are pre-vet students and Abby and Misty are animal science majors. All have adapted very well and are learning a lot. Their first week they helped with a cattle drive of 235 head from one farm, along a public road to another farm.
Miss Tina and her family are going to Disney World (!!!) on vacation this month. Last summer we stayed open while she was away and discovered just how incompetent we are at her job, so this year Peaceful Pastures will be closed June 11-15.
Lastly, at 3 p.m. on weekdays we turn off the customer service computer and stop answering business phone calls. Therefore, it is VERY important that market orders for Saturdays be submitted by noon Friday.
