CORVETTE RACE CAR SERIES

FIA/SCCA 1955-1967

Here is the first collection of photos and spreadsheet data organized by drivers, the Series and period in which they raced. Some viewers may note the theme follows along the lines of our Corvette Race Car Series Chronology section. While we are dealing with the complexities integrating that into a single presentation, we plan to serve you with e-mailings similar to this one for Corvettes racing in Trans Am, IMSA, Corvette Challenge, ALMS, World Challenge, Rolex Grand-Am, SCCA Club and other Series. Please enjoy the photos provided by individual photographers and photos and data from our own archives.

The Federation Internationale d’Autosport (FIA) based in Paris sets the rules for many worldwide race series. Following WWII, the FIA began sanctioning World Championship Series distance races at a few American tracks such as Sebring, Daytona, Watkins Glen and Bridgehampton. SCCA drivers eagerly anticipated these races and acquitted themselves well. As a member of the FIA, the SCCA supplied the personnel and managed these races which in turn helped elevate SCCA racing to worldwide caliber.
