Vettefinderjim finds an original
1957 Sebring Factory Race Car

In May, 2009 our Jim Gessner fielded a call from an owner in Texas seeking info on an old race car he had laying around for years.  Curiosity piqued, Jim went out there to see what he had.  Convinced it  could be the "Real McCoy", Jim took little time to place the car with a serious collector committed to make it like it was when the Lindsey Hopkins team entered the car for Chevrolet in the 6th annual 12 Hours of Sebring on March 23, 1957.

The story, by Jim Gessner and Ralph Kramer, published in the NCRS Restorer, Winter 2010,  vol. 36, no. 3.

The inspection, August 1, 2009 at the shop of John Justo.

The introduction, August 28, 2009 at Corvettes at Carlisle.
