I was fortunate to serve on the command staff for 14 years and retire as a major in 2009. Prior to my retirement the department went through the CALEA process and became accredited in March 2007. Survey for Lockups and
Holding Cells
Deadline extended to Friday, October 12
The IACP is seeking feedback from law enforcement leaders that have any form of a lockup - whether you have one holding cell in a smaller police department or hundreds of cells across multiple substations. This brief needs assessment survey should take only a few minutes to complete and will help us understand current efforts to eliminate sexual abuse in confinement. It is important that the survey be completed by staff with responsibility for and/or knowledge of the lockup operations and training needs in your agency. Read more. |

CALEA Accreditation Compliance Express (CACE)
Updates to CALEA Standards are Now Available to All CACE Users
How to get the Standards Manual Updates for CACE: if you are your agency's CACE Manager and you have created an account on the CALEA website, login to www.calea.org, open the Resources tab, hover over the CACE link, and click CACE Upgrades. Select the CACE Program you have installed, scroll down to the Standards Manual Updates section, download and install the latest manual version (dated September 2012).
If you are the CACE Manager and have not created an account on the CALEA website, click the login link (located in upper right corner of screen), select "Create a New Account," and fill out and submit form. You will need your Client ID number to create an account; if you do not have the number, please contact your agency Accreditation Managerr. After you have created the new account, send CALEA Information Technology Coordinator Linda Phillips (lphillips@calea.org) an email notifying her, so you can be added to the database as your agency's CACE Manager. Once you are added as the CACE Manager, you will be able to download CACE Updates. |
