4 Paws/1 Cause

There is still time to register for the 4 Paws/1 Cause walk-a-thon! Join HEAH on Sunday June 24th from 9-noon and walk in memorium, celebration, or just to show your support for pets affected by cancer. Dogs will love socializing with one another and so will their owners as we walk the path behind the hospital grounds. Cross the finish line at the clinic and know that you have walked for a worthy cause. All proceeds benefit the Morris Animal Foundation and their pet cancer research.

These animals need our help! Join the walk today! Registraion information is available on our website.

 June 2012

Greetings!

A Message from Frodo

Hi there! All the hustle and bustle around the hopsital lately has gotten me excited! I especially can't wait for the 4 Paws/1 Cause....help fight cancer in pets walk-a-thon on June 24th. I'll have lots of company at the hospital that day and everyone will be walking for a good cause. Pets like me that are affected by cancer need help fighting the disease. Dr. House does a great job giving me all the latest treatments and therapies, but the more research that can be done the better animals can get. Can't wait to see you there!

Summer Reading

Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper is an awesome book about a blind kitten that finds a home. This book reminded me about how resilient animals are, and how important the human animal bond can be.  It spoke volumes about living every day to the fullest, accepting love in all its forms and overcoming our fears and limitations.

Amy, our Office Manager reviews animal related books on our Facebook page monthly. Delight in some summer reading with her top picks!

Adopt a Cat Awareness Month

Kitten season is in full swing, with hundreds of cute kittens being born everyday. It's important to find as many homes as possible for these adorable animals. That's why the American Humane Society dedicates June to cat adoption awareness. The best time to adopt a cat is when they are betwen 10-12 weeks old because it allows for important bonding time to take place between owner and cat.

Summer Safety Tip.....Dogs and Cars

Summer is the ultimate playtime time for dogs-chasing frisbees, swimming in the lake, walking with owners- and why not take advantage of it? But summer can also be a dangerous time as the number of cars and dogs on the road increase. Learn what you can do to keep your dog safe both inside and outside of the car on Dr. House's blog.
