There's probably nothing cuter than your little one lighting up with joy when that white PJ Libary envelope arrives -- or, more likely, when you sit down to read and cuddle.

Next time, take a snapshot of the happy occasion and share it with us. PJ National often asks us for photos of their "clients" and we'd love to see Silicon Valley PJ kids represented.

Friends & Family:
Two Values for Summer

It's hot outside, and that means summer is really here.

For children (especially school-aged children) summer has the allure of freedom and fun, with many ways to relax and grow at the same time.

Have you talked with your children about summertime opportunities to play with friends and enjoy family?

Specifically, have you considered the ways in which friends and family are valued in Judaism?

Consider a few of the summer-related materials found here.

These ideas come from PJ Library and its partner Shalom Sesame. We hope they help spark meaningful summer conversations in your home!

Renewal Time???

Change of Address???

If it's time for you to opt in for renewal, do so by submitting a completed online renewal form.

If you are moving, your books will NOT be forwarded unless we know your new address.

Greetings!

Summer is a wonderful time for all kinds of explorations. We know many parents who want their children not only to enjoy summer, but also to be engaged in activities that do a mitzvah (a good deed) for people in their world.

May you enjoy the warmth of August -- the weather, the family time, and the opportunity to reach out to others.

Here's a chance for children to express themselves this summer -- and earn the chance to win an iPad!

PJ Library and Voices and Visions [a new Jewish arts initiative of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation that pairs great Jewish quotes with original artistic interpretations] are co-sponsoring a

Make-a-Poster Contest

for children based on ideas inspired by this quote:

"If you see something that is broken, fix it."

--Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

We heartily encourage every PJ Library child in Silicon Valley to participate in this contest. We know there's a lot of talent out there, and want to share it with the community! We look forward to your participation.

Enjoy your summer. May it be filled with happy, familiar activities and exciting new adventures!

B'Shalom,

Rabbi Leslie and Eleanor

Thanks to all who responded to our recent
