All Claims Filed Prior to August 23, 2010 Have Been Transferred to the Gulf Coast Claims Facility for Review

Filing a claim with the Gulf Coast Claims Facility ("GCCF") is the official method for individuals and businesses to register claims for costs and damages incurred as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
 
The GCCF's Claims Administrator, Kenneth R. Feinberg, is responsible for all decisions relating to the administration and processing of claims by the GCCF.

SnapperNOAA RE-OPENS FEDERAL WATERS OFF WESTERN LOUISIANNA
 
Effective August 27, 2010 at 6:00 pm Eastern Time NOAA Will Re-Open 4,281 Square Miles of Federal Waters for Recreational Activity
 
No oil has been documented in the area since July 30 and trajectory models now show that the area is at low risk for future exposure to oil.  The area was previously closed to commercial and recreational fishing because oil was present.
