| WRITE-IN CANDIDATE INFORMATION FOR 2011 DEMA BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCED
DEMA Member Write-In Petitions for 2011 Board Elections Must Be Submitted by October 15, 2010
Write-In candidates for DEMA's 2011 Board of Directors election slate are now being accepted for the five seats opening on the DEMA Board; one in each of the five stakeholder groups.
The official voting delegate from any DEMA Member company in good standing is eligible to run for election through the write-in process.
Write-in candidates may be listed on the ballot if DEMA receives a petition signed by a minimum of 2% of the membership voting power or by 10 Regular (Class A) voting Members of the Association, whichever is less.
NOTE: All petitioners must be Members of the Association for the year in which the nominee would serve on the Board (2011).
To be eligible, Write-In Candidates must:
- Be regular (category A) DEMA Members in good standing with dues paid through 2011
- Be their company's designated DEMA Member voting delegate
- Work within the sector represented by the seat for which he or she is seeking election
- Submit their Write-In Nomination Form no later than 5:00 pm Pacific Time on Friday, October 15, 2010.
If elected, candidates must attend quarterly DEMA Board meetings, be willing to participate in various standing or ad hoc committees, abide by the DEMA By-Laws, and work toward the best interest and growth of the diving industry. DEMA's goal is to unify the diving industry, and Board members are an integral part of meeting the challenges of the industry and the DEMA organization in preparing for the future.
The following Board seats are open for election to the Board in 2011 (one seat in each category):
