"When you begin to understand Law of Attraction, and you understand that which is like unto itself is drawn, then it is easier and easier to understand that you are offering a signal, and the entire Universe responds. And when you finally get that, and you begin to exercise some deliberate control about the signal that you offer, then it really begins to be fun, because then you recognize that nothing happens outside of your creative control." --- Abraham - Hicks
We have, within us, energy that creates worlds. And we have a choice as to how to direct this energy every minute of every day. We are that powerful.
Rev. Michael Beckwith, in one of his sermons, talks about our power of focus by using steel to illustrate his point. He tells us that, if we were to look through a microscope we would notice that the difference between a piece of steel and a magnet is that in the lump of steel atoms move randomly in multiple directions, while in the magnet the atoms line up in one focused direction.
In other words, the alignment of atoms (energy) is what transforms the ordinary steel into an attracting magnet.
We, too, at a subatomic level are vibrational beings. We, through our thoughts and feelings emit a certain kind of energy or atomic frequency that others pick up on and that the universe responds to. How we direct this energy puts us in a place of power or weakness, but however we direct it, it becomes our point of attraction. We are at the center of this hub.
How does all of this tie into magnetic creating?
Simply put, the stories we tell about our lives, the ways we frame our experiences, the beliefs we insist on repeating influence the energy we put out into the world, and consequently, the energy we attract back.
In other words, thoughts you are thinking trigger a feeling response. If you "think" you are failing, you feel bad. If you "think" you are succeeding, you feel good. Both are simply a "perception". In other words, the thought can be real or imagined. But whatever version you are telling about your life, influences the feelings you are "emoting". Emotion is essentially "energy in motion". The feelings you are emoting end up being your vibrational point of attraction. Your "vibrational point of attraction" is what you end up with more of.
Thus the story goes: the better it gets, the better it gets, the worse it gets the worse it gets.
Okay. So what to do about it?
To begin, start listening carefully to the stories you are telling (or believing) about yourself or your life. Pay special attention to phrases you repeat often
Do any of these sound familiar to you: "This always happens to me!" "It's hard", "It's just my luck", "I never win", "They never pick me for the part", "They're always interested in someone else", "He/she is not going to call", "I have a slow metabolism," "I think about food and gain weight", "I can't afford it", "I can't make my living as an artist", "Let's be realistic. It only happens like that in the movies," "You don't understand. It's NOT that easy", "I can't raise my rates. I will lose clients", "They would never pay that amount", "They're all idiots", "People don't know how to drive!", "I'm too old for that" . . .
Add your own?
Think about this the next time you get on a rant: The universe vibrationally matches your energy and responds "Your wish is my command".
Truth or fiction, real or imagined, it is still just a belief you keep telling yourself. But this "belief" happens to affect the way you feel about your life. It affects the energy you put out in the world. And it affects the energy you draw back toward yourself.
So, then the question becomes, shouldn't we be more careful about the "spin" we spew?
This week, try something new:
If the story you are telling doesn't feel good, stop telling it. Either tell it with a twist of optimism, give it a new version, or tell a different story.
For every one thing that is not working, there are usually around 10 things that are. Talk about those things. Milk them for everything.
If there is no way around the the telling of the negative story (in other words, you cannot find any other spin to it or the silver lining), simply choose to talk about something else. Distraction works for the better in these types of circumstances.
Why is this important? Why does telling a new story work?
Because it changes your level of expectancy. It puts you in a different place of receptivity. It opens your feelings to a new possibility so that a new outcome can exist.
If you've ever noticed, the person doesn't get hired who never thought he could get the job. It is the one who expects it that lands it every time. It is the artist who thinks she can get paid for her work, the consultant who trusts he will make it on his own, the writer who knows a publisher will find her. These are the stories they tell themselves and end up living out loud. Why? Because they expect it to come to pass. If not now, later.
Sometimes, this simple act alone, can tip the scales in your favor.
We are that powerful. If you get anything, get this: YOU are that powerful. So, this week, make the attempt to reframe the story you are in the habit of telling.
Even if you can't give it the most positive spin, move it until it feels better to you. Tell it with a different twist. See the light at the end of the tunnel.
"It has been bad but it's getting better. It has been a tough road, but I'm on my way back up. I haven't gotten a new contract, but it doesn't mean it can't happen today. I didn't make a sale yet, but the day's not over. In the meantime. . . I have amazing children. My partner is my best friend. My dog (or cat) brings me incredible amounts of joy. I live in the most beautiful part of the country. My car provides me safe transportation in luxury. I have a full tank of gas. The home I live in is my oasis. The heat in my house feels good. I love the sound of my daughter singing in the shower. I'm grateful for my health. I couldn't have asked for better friends. It's phenomenal that my body knows to breathe without me thinking about it. It's amazing that the sun rises every day without me having to do anything. Despite my circumstances, I am supported by this universe I live in. There is evidence of it all around me. The birch tree that sits outside my office window, reminds me of this. I love my garden with all the flowers coming to bloom. I love the sound of the wind blowing through the chimes outside. It may not be perfect but I do have a fabulous life. And oh, the sun is setting outside. I love this time of night. It is so beautiful, I think I'll go watch the sky change colors. . . . ."
In other words, fill in the details of the parts of your life that work.Let your life feel good to you where you are. You are still in the becoming. And the phase you are in, if you don't like it, is just passing through. And if you do like it there is more to come. Focus on where you are going. Focus on the joys of getting there. Focus on the joys of being here, now. Because you're not going to get this moment back tomorrow.
In other words, there is so much that works. There is so much that is working. There is so much that is working for you. Look for that evidence. Tell that story. Revel in that joy of becoming.
And delight in the powerful creator that you are.
