Dear ,
Okay, so I'm not so proud - I dilly dally, get wishy washy and sometimes even whiney about stuff that I actually have some control over. I wonder if I can succeed at things I haven't tried, or if what I'm doing I can't do better or if I can really accomplish what I set my mind to it or if I'm simply deluding myself? And a friend of mine, just last week, actually, reminded me about the power of a decision.
"I'm obsessed with decisions", she told me. She actually used that word "obsessed" which is why I like her. "I'm obsessed with decisions," she said. "I'm on a whole new kick and it's completely transformed my life."
I knew what she was talking about. When I actually take control of a situation, I feel empowered in my life. But I haven't been in that mode recently because I've been playing in unchartered waters. What if I can't do it? What if I can't finish it?
"Make a decision that you can", she told me. "Make a decision that you will".
Simply deciding, is our topic today.

"You wander from room to room hunting for the diamond necklace that is already around your neck." ~ Rumi
Okay, just to be up front, this quote doesn't actually have to do with "simply deciding", but it came across my email today and I absolutely love it so I had to share it . . . in case you were wondering.
So, what's the big thing about making a decision? The big thing about making a decision is that it puts the power back into your hands. Consider these two statements:
"I wonder if I can".
"I can."
One leaves the energy outside of you. The other claims the energy for itself.
Which one is a more powerful place to come from?
Sometimes we are afraid to make decisions, we think, because we are afraid we will make the wrong decision. But I think we're afraid for a different reason.
I think we're afraid to make decisions because we're afraid of our own power. There is a lot of power and force in the act of simply making a decision. And who wants to take on that kind of responsibility?
But the thing is, in not deciding, decisions are made for us. We live our life in "default". And pretty soon we're complaining about feeling taken over by the circumstances in our life. By our relationship, by our government, by our boss, by our commitments.
But it doesn't have to be that way. We can take matters into our own hands. And in fact we are the only ones that can.
Nothing is as empowering as making a decision.
"Maybe I will finally get out of debt this year."
"I will be debt free by the end of the year".
If these statements came from two different people, which one would you guess is going to be out of debt by the end of the year?
But I'll tell you why this person will be debt free. It's because the one thing that gets the universe's attention more quickly than anything else, is clarity. When you are clear, the universe lines up situations and events to help bring everything to fruition.
But we have to do our part.
Making a decision is making clear what we want. It's singular. It's directive. It creates flow and it ignites energy. The other is loose, open, like a sieve. Energy can seep out in different directions leaving everything to chance.
Or consider this example, in the case of personal challenges:
I want to do better (or I will try to do better)
Vs.
I will do better, because I can do better.
Which is stronger? You decide.
So, what's my point? Well, it came from my personal challenge last week. I loved the conversation with my friend because she reminded me of what I already knew, which is what I'm doing here (you know this stuff . . . I'm not telling you anything new).
I realized that I did not have to be a victim to my own limiting thoughts. And even though I was in expansion mode (trying to practice what I preach), I was also in fear, which is the perfect place for limiting beliefs to welcome me.
And then I simply had to decide. Would I be a victim or Victor of circumstance? Would I allow myself to succeed or to fail? The decision was in my hands. No fate was going to be determined from outside of myself unless I let it.
So I made the decision.
"I can" and "I will".
And so can you.

Some of you may be unfamiliar with Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I find it to be one of the most effective methods of clearing limiting beliefs or old emotional patterns. So, I'm offering a FREE download of an actual interview with Brad Yates that took place on a financial teleseminar I co-produced. During the course of the interview, he actually takes you through a series of tappings so you get an actual experience.
The topic is called "EFT: Tapping Your Way Into Abundance" (which is always relevant) and it is yours for FREE.
Or if you want to read more about EFT, you can also download the manual, written by founder of EFT, Gary Craig:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
BRAD YATES If you want to get rid of any emotional barriers that stand in the way between you and what you want, Emotional Freedom Technique is one of the quickest routes to "freedom". Brad Yates was a speaker on The Tapping Solution Telesummit as well as someone I've worked with personally. And he has some pretty effective programs.
Known as the "EFT Wizard", Brad says, "The extent to which we are not experiencing that which we say we want in our life is the extent to which we are resisting it. That resistance comes from our thoughts, or our limiting beliefs and they actually show up as blocks in our energy system. Through tapping on the meridian points, we can actually clear those blocks and experience freedom." He affectionately calls EFT "Mental Floss".
If you struggle with beliefs around money and want to change them, he has a very powerful program he developed with Joe Vitale, from the movie "The Secret". The program is called Money Beyond Belief.
You can read more about it here ==>http://budurl.com/bradyatesmbb
If you have struggled with weight loss or body image, he developed a program on this as well. It's called (not surprisingly) Body Beyond Belief.
Find out about it here ==> http://budurl.com/bradyatesbbb
His latest program is called Confidence Beyond Belief. On this one he partners with Master Hypnotist, Steve G. Jones and together they combine their best talents to put forth a program that promises to positively boost your confidence level (at a minimal cost)!
I'm a fan of Brad's and highly recommend any and all of his programs.
