New advances in software and washdown capabilities makes using a robot as easy as 1-2-3
Paloma-D2 VideoThe new Paloma-D2 pick-and-place Delta Robot does the same thing as it's highly successful predecessor in that it aligns and places products into cartons, cases or trays.  However, this next generation robot contains 3 new features that make implementing a cost-saving robot that much more attractive:

1. IP65 washdown and IP54 splashproof rating make cleaning easy.

2. 3-D view of the picking process makes adjustments and optimization intuitive.

3. Tool free changeable form sets combined with the new Gemini 3.0 software guarantees changeover times of less than five minutes.

Validating Medical Heat Sealers: Process Control that Goes Beyond Time, Temperature, and Pressure
Sterile Medical Bags

Historically, the three variables critical to medical heat sealing validation have been dwell time, pressure, and temperature.  While crucial to form an effective seal necessary to ensure sterility, validation should also address numerous other variables for users to be confident in the quality of a final product, including seal-area wrinkles, band breaks, and label applications.  Ultimately, for a piece of heat sealing equipment to be fully validated, total process control should encompass every step that affects the quality of the final product. Industry Trends | Vertical Form-Fill-Seal
Sanitation and Sustainability - Customer Collaboration
SVIIn May, our vertical form-fill-seal group hosted a meeting with several key customers in distinct market areas. The purpose of this meeting was to review our existing product line and solicit input for improvements in operational efficiency (leaning out the machine) and sanitation. A day long seminar was held, with participants actively discussing each functional section of the machine while viewing the machines on the shop floor, including a prototype and new concepts (research stage).  The customers provided us with feedback about our current designs and most important, new ideas and suggestions that could be implemented on future models.  Read about their ideas and Sign-up for our next event, Click Here.

Quick Delivery Saves the Day
Quick Delivery Wrapper
Recently the Norwood Souvenir Writing Products Facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, celebrated its 100th year of manufacturing custom-printed writing instruments.  Unfortunately, in June 2008, the "once in a thousand years" flood that swept through Iowa totally devistated the facility.  However with a quick call to Bosch Packaging Technology, Norwood was able to replace key equipment and get production back online, in a different facility, in only a few days.  Read More.
