Classics of Golf published the first comprehensive history of golf's pinnacle amateur event in 2005 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Arnold Palmer winning the Amateur at the County Club of Detroit in 1954 and includes interviews with all but one living U.S. Amateur winner.  The first person accounts and brilliant color photos of the matches and golfers in their youth provide a unique and inspirational presentation of golf in its purest form.
