We asked Classics of Golf founding publisher and noted historian of golf literature, Robert Macdonald, to share some of his thoughts on Herbert Warren Wind and Herb's relationship with the game and some of the great players.

Mr. Wind -- America's greatest sportswriter -- was born Aug. 11, 1916 in Brockton, MA and lived until May 30, 2005.  Below we have provided links to some of Herb's magazine articles from SI and Golf Digest as well as other important information on his life.

If you do not own these books, we highly recommend adding them to your collection.  They represent some of Herb's most personal writings.  Every golfer must own a few great golf books.

As Robert discusses in the video, the forewords written by Herb to many of the Classics of Golf Library selections provide keen insight as only Herb could detail.

We have initiated a new program in which Classics of Golf will donate $400 to any charity of your choice if you purchase the 69-volume Classics of Golf Library for your home, a friend or your club.

Please let us know (click here to email us) if you are interested in taking advantage of this offer.
