Love blooms at PaSu in February

Greetings!

As Valentine's Day approaches this weekend, we think about all those we love... family and friends... as well as our 'special someone'. And we think too that this is Heart Month; we are all gaining 'maturity' with each passing day, all the more reason to think seriously about  our heart health. In keeping with that thought, Patrick's recipe this month is a healthy alternative to a common and much-loved brunch favourite, pancakes.

We've had some ups and downs in the thermometer of late, so if you are tired of the yo-yo cycle so typical of this time of year, pop in for a cup of tea and put it from your mind! You may just see that special little something that can lift your spirits to trundle through the last six weeks of winter weather!

At the Boutique
February is the month of romance. Golly, what else can you do in a month where the weather promises to be awful, you have bills from Christmas to pay, the Tax-man is holding out his hand and the banks keep reminding you to invest in your future? So we have extended our annual Sweetheart Sale at the Boutique to February 21. This store-wide sale has some selected merchandise at or below cost! Buy one item and get the second of equal or lesser value at half price.
(Does not include consignment merchandise or items already discounted.)

And here is a sweet deal: All our remaining sheepskin coats are on sale less 45%. There are some beautiful coats that will make an impressive Valentine's gift.

Our Valentine's Erotic Food Gourmet Evening on Saturday February 13 is SOLD OUT, so we opened a second seating on Friday, February 12. This evening too is quickly filling up, so call now to make your reservations! (Although, judging by Patrick's description of the menu items, you'd best not have any reservations about the baudy humour of the evening!) Cocktails at 5:45 pm, dinner served promptly at 6:30 pm.

Looking ahead to March, we are still accepting reservations for our Seafood Evening on March 6. And back by popular demand, our interactive dinner theatre "The Night That Paddy Murphy Died" is slated for Saturday, March 20. The mayhem begins when Paddy's pals decide to steal him in his coffin and bring him to his favourite watering hole to say their proper goodbyes. You are invited to this Irish/Newfie funeral wake as friends and family gather to pay their respects to the dearly departed. Enjoy a fun-filled evening complete with traditional food, toe-tapping live Celtic music and great comedy.

We had our big 'dump' of winter back in December, and it is distressing to hear of all the storms that are socking in the east coast and brisk temperatures hitting the prairies. We sincerely hope that you are staying well and warm. Hang in there! Spring is not so far off!

Until next month, stay happy, and live love every day.

Sincerely,

Sue and Patrick

Healthy Pancakes
Just for Pancake Lovers
I love pancakes but always feel guilty about the white flour and the fact that there is very little food value in them. Peaches, our cockatoo, has to have her pancake fix, and Sue protests about how bad they are for the waistline whilst demolishing her third. Suffice it to say, that in our ménage a quatre, pancakes are essential, so you can imagine my delight when I came across a recipe that was not only healthy but far better in taste and texture to the common pancake.
