Santa is on his way!

Greetings!

Here we are, gazing at the dwindling days of 2009 already. November was certainly a blur as the Boutique became a bit of a road show, attending Agri-Trade in Red Deer, the Spruce Meadows Christmas Markets and setting up our holiday shopping location at Northland Mall in Calgary. Whew! Add to that the Dinner Theatres and Victorian Christmas dinners at the Restaurant, and well... you can imagine the blur that this past month has been! So we apologize for missing the November newsletter - we're sure you understand how it got missed!

For some 2009 was a rough continuation of the turbulence that began in late 2008. We had times where we felt it too. On the bright side however, we couldn't be more delighted with the online changes we've been making. This newsletter is one of them. Being able to stay in touch with our friends and valued customers via email has been wonderfully rewarding. Welcome to ALL our new subscribers!

And oh, are we ever excited to tell you that we have over 850 subscribers reading now! Our target was to reach 1000 by the end of the year... so if you have friends or family members that you think would like the recipes, notice of events or the online catalogue shopping available, please click the "Forward to a Friend" link at the bottom of this newsletter. We appreciate you helping us reach our goal!

At the Boutique
The snow is officially flying now! And BRRR!! Did those temperatures drop this past week!

To beat the cold, we have warm, cuddly attire and footwear - ideal for yourself or as a holiday gift idea. Wrap yourself in a soft mohair blanket, or don a knit sweater of alpaca, wool or cotton.

Ladies, wrap a luxurious pashmina around your shoulders when you step out for the Christmas party, and gents, we have leather coats with removable liners that are so handsome, you'll be irresistible to her!

Slippers are a natural choice to keep tootsies warm by a roaring fire. And when you do have to venture out into the cold, you can don your sheepskin hat, mitts and coat. There's no reason to feel the bite of Old Man Winter this year!

We will be at Northland Mall in Calgary until the end of December (Shaganappi and Crowchild Trail). You can pick up quite a selection right there, however slippers must be ordered from the Farm Boutique.

Come visit us at either location! We're always happy to see you!

Harira Soup
As the cold season settles in let me introduce you to a soup that is a meal and rocks with flavour. It is called Harira Soup and is common to all Arabic countries bordering the Mediterranean and there are as many versions as there are different nations and localities in that part of the world.
