Word from Adan Morik, Sales and Marketing Director
In the final quarter of 2008, we discussed the demanding challenges of the economic situation. We pointed out in our newsletter: "The challenging business environment has created a need for security vendors to be creative in presenting cost effective, high quality services to their clients." Looking back, now almost a year later, we have done just that.
In spite of the current economic environment, I-SEC International Security has managed to remain well positioned in the market. This, in my opinion, is a result of 3 major strengths.
Firstly, a streamlined organization and cost structure. I-SEC's various departments work closely together in order to maintain a strong focus on our company's mission. The entire company breathes our values, knowledge and experience.
Second, the sustainability of a high level of service and quality to clients. We strive to work closely with our clients, constantly creating innovative ways to do security and provide customer service in a more enhanced way. We take pride in working with our clients to see how we can save costs without compromising security.
And finally, we have maintained a focus on aviation security, allowing us to use our resources wisely. Our main focus right now is on taking the technology to the next level in order to maximize the efficiency of our security solutions. A good example of this lies at our operation in NRT, Japan that started in January of this year, where we integrated our security software into check-in kiosks. We will display this new concept at the AVSEC World 2009 conference in November.
The combination of these factors, among others, has allowed I-SEC to remain competitive in a tough market and led to the continuation of a yearly 15% growth, a reliable indication that the company is doing well.

New Security Solution: I-CHECK
In our continued endeavor to streamline airline security operations, we proudly introduce our newest innovation: I-CHECK. The solution is a field-proven concept which has been successfully implemented at NRT, Japan, serving an operation of 30 daily flights.
Improved passenger flow
I-CHECK provides a seamless integration of passenger screening into CUSS or airline proprietary check-in kiosk (without a need for an agent), which allows for a free flow of passengers. The fully automated passenger screening method results in one less security step for passengers.
Adaptable to your needs
The solution is fully customizable. This means that the parameters defining high risk, such as passport, booking locations, etc. may be adapted at any time in order to meet operational needs.
Reduced operational costs
The integrated APS (Advanced Passenger Screening) provides passenger information ahead of time, which allows you to plan ahead and minimize operational costs.
Additionally, the fully automated passenger screening allows you to reduce the number of agents. In NRT, for example, 95% of passengers are screened automatically and require no agent interaction.
Improved customer satisfaction
Last but not least, I-CHECK provides a facilitated security flow for passengers from check-in to boarding, consequently enhancing customer satisfaction.

PCaT Incident Reports
The examples below underline the great importance of professionalism and teamwork.
AMS, Netherlands, August 8, 2009
Two passengers with British passports traveled together from AMS to MSP. The Pro-Check (I-SEC subsidiary) Supervisor in charge decided to interview the passengers twice, the first time together and the second time separately from each other. In both cases, the interviews led to the classifying of those passengers as Selectee.
During the Selectee search, a box-cutter was found in the wallet of one of the passengers, hidden between two credit cards. The Supervisor advised the airline not to take the passengers on board. The Royal Dutch police determined that the box-cutter was not a concealed weapon, but took it in possesion. The passengers were not allowed to board the plane.
LHR, UK, September 1, 2009
Our colleagues at I-SEC UK interacted with a passenger at check-in who was flying from LHR to Lima. During the profile interview, the passenger's story was not consistent and he appeared to be lying or withholding information.
The passenger was allowed to travel, but was checked as a Selectee. His bag was manually checked. During the manual check, illegal drugs were found in the passenger's socks. All items were handed over to the police. The passenger was denied travel, handcuffed and taken away.
LHR, UK, September 15, 2009
A passenger was flying from LHR to JFK arrived 5 minutes prior to the check-in closure. When he presented his French passport, the Supervisor immediately noticed a hole punch on the bottom left hand side, a feature which was more common in the older-style passports. Upon asking the passenger a few basic questions and inspecting the document, it was clear that the passport was most likely forged. The passenger presented a credit card and UK driver's license as secondary identification, which he obtained using his forged passport. To confirm suspicions, the UK Immigration Forgery Unit was contacted. The passport was confirmed to be forged, and after a search of the passenger's check-in baggage he was found to be in possession of a large stealth knife. The passenger is currently under investigation for:
