It is COLD- These pics tell the tale
 

The cars have been sputtering.  The schools have been closed.  Even cold weather enthusiasts have been staying inside. Yet winter can look so peaceful and benign... but...

Did you notice?
 

This winter in Detroit has been especially abusive.  In December a wet slushy snow fell that froze solid with extended temperatures in the teens.  New Year's Eve met rising temperatures - into the 40's - and about 2" of rain that ended with an additional coating of snow and you guessed it, temperatures that froze everything, including your roofs, solid again. Then another "warm spell" followed by a "deep freeze". 
 

Imagine how your roof must feel, subjected to the extremes of weather and temperatures 24 hours a day, 365 days a year?  Guess what your roof would say if it could talk! Weather abuses roofs.

Thermal shock is murder
 

These freeze-thaw / expansion-contraction conditions try to break apart your roof, especially if it has not been maintained.  This is evidenced by the 127 service calls for leaks we received so far - just in the month of January.  Some of these roofs split open due to thermal shock expansion. Any moisture that has infiltrated your roof will freeze and blow apart the membrane. Even the most minor deficiency in your roof is exploited by ice in the winter.  

Be proactive
 

We will be happy to help you maintain your roof and save you money. Our suggestion - have your roof inspected at least 2x per year or after extremely severe weather conditions.  Minor deficiencies can be corrected and other damage identified.  This will allow your roof to perform at its best.  Then perhaps you will hear your roof say -
