November 30th - Sue Watts, Wishkah River Distillery
Earlier this month Wishkah River Distillery celebrated its grand opening. Sue Watts is the owner of the Aberdeen based business, a craft distillery of ultra premium and small batch spirits that include Washington themed, high quality, pot distilled vodkas, (neutral and flavored), gin, spirit of honey, whiskey, brandy, and liqueurs. "Just tried the freshly distilled 80-proof vodka from Wishkah River Distillery and WOW it is smooth! The version the owner is selling currently is a honey-based vodka made in-house. For a small crafter, I think they have this down to an art-form". (review from Yelp) Wishkah Rivery Distillery is located at 2210 Port Industrial Road. The tasting room is open tasting room is now open Thur, Fri, Sat, from 12 noon to 6 PM. www.wishkahriver.com |

Annual Thanksgiving Dessert Auction
Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's auction and to Auctioneer Gary Morean, ably assisted by Eric Nelson. The results are in and we raised a whopping $1,000 (a record, we think). Thanks to all who donated such a wonderful array of treats.

DICTIONARY DAYS
Join the fun on December 6th, 7th or 8th and accompany a Rotary colleague to one or more of the area elementary schools to distribute a dictionary to each fourth grader. Dictionary Chairperson, Noreen Sampson, will provide each volunteer with a set of talking points and she noted that if you have not does this before, there will be an experienced mentor to help you. It usually takes about 45 minutes and is always a rewarding and entertaining experience. The Wednesday distributions will NOT interfere with your attending our regular Rotary meetings. Call Patrick Farwell at 532 5986 or e-mail at [email protected] for details and let him know what days you want to help.

Rotary Club Supports Annual Book Drive
This holiday season help a needy child by giving a gift thatwill be opened all year long. The Daily World and our local library have joined forces for this worthwhile project, making it easier than ever for you to help. With your generous contribution of a new, unwrapped children's book, we can make this holiday a bit brighter for our area's children who may not otherwise receive any books at all for Christmas. The club will be matching your donations with a $400 grant to the book drive. You can help match this with a cash donation or you may purchase a book that Chris Peck will have available. Please bring your book donations to the December 14th Meeting.
