June 22nd

Fellow Rotarian Mike Curry is our next  guest speaker. He works for Catholic Community Services, an organization that has been competing for public sector contracts from the state.  Their most immediate success has been carving off a big slice of DSHS services and managing it as a private contractor.  Mike is going to speak to this particular aspect of their nonprofit business and how they are successfully operating as the outsource solution for government social services.

Please bring your coin box to the meeting.
Coin boxesWe are in the home stretch of our Rotary year which ends on June 30th. If you have been collecting your spare change, please bring your coin boxes to this week's meeting.

The funds collected in this year's coin boxes will be donated to Polio Plus.

Proposed for membership...
Joy Beard has proposed Julianne Hanner, President of Hanner Enterprises, for membership.  Julianne owns the McDonald's franchise and has partnered with 11 schools to raise money for Foodball in GH and Raymond.  She has served on the Seattle Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors for the last two years.

This is the first publication of the proposal and any comments concerning the proposed membership may be directed to President Alex Kluh or President-Elect Jennifer Sturm.

Root Beer Floats Sign Up Survey sent A reminder that we will have a booth selling root beer floats at this year's SPLASH! Festival. A sign up survey was sent out so that it will be easy for you to indicate which hours you would like to be there. We will need volunteers to set up at 1 pm and  staff the booth from 2pm to 7 pm or whenever we run out of supplies or buyers whichever comes first. So mark July 4th on your calendar if you wish to be involved.

Log Pavilion Cleanup on July 16th
Each year Rotary Club members volunteer to work on the landscaping around the Log Pavilion. We begin at 9 am and are usually finished by early afternoon.Patrick

This year we plan to replace the landscaping on the riverside of the building as well as the tree that was removed last year when the wall was repaired.

This is always a gratifying project for our club because of our committment to the facility and the surrounding area. So mark your calendar now if you would like to help.  The more the merrier!
