Whether you have a young family, or whether your family or friends have a young family...it pays to know about new laws on kids in cars due to take effect on October 1.
 The new laws are designed to improve the safety of children on our roads.
Research showed parents were graduating children to adult seat belts too soon.
This was probably because the old laws weren't too specific about the types of car seats, restraints and seat belts children should use.
The new laws however, are very specific which has generated a bit of confusion.
It's not rocket science but there is some detail you will need to get your head around - especially if you have children under 7 travelling in your car.
