The FPG Child Development Institute recently published the issue brief Using Developmental Science to Transform Children's Early School Experiences. The six-page brief is part of FirstSchool, a pre-K to grade 3 initiative to promote public school efforts to become more responsive to the needs of an increasingly younger, more diverse population. The brief concludes that "infusing knowledge about child development into the education system for young children would transform early schooling and help all children achieve and succeed".
