What's New This Week?
Back to School Time
Salvation Army is seeking volunteers: - August 7th to help with Annual Tools for Schools where they will pass out school supplies.
- August 16 (from 1pm until 4pm?) to help with all leftover school supplies to be inventoried and packed away until a January restock for the Lafayette schools.

Still Needed
Sign up to sort books Children's Literacy Coalition received about 3000 books from UCC National Youth Event this month which now need to be sorted to divide among the groups. Sorting will take place several days in August. If interested, email Amy or call 765-742-9077 x 222
Tippy Connect Tri-N-Run Training Series
This Training Series is the official training series of the Purdue Boilermaker Half Marathon taking place on October 20th. There will be a 5k/10k event on August 25th and a 15k on September 22nd...all as a training series for someone who's building up mileage to prepare for the Half Marathon in October. Volunteers are needed for:
- registration
- on-route directional assistance
- timing and general setup
Volunteers would need to meet at the north parking lot of Ross Ade Stadium between 7-8am until 10:30am for the 5k/10k and until 11:30am for the 15k. For more information email Tressa

2012 Week of CaringSeptember 10-16
United Way of Greater Lafayette Week of Caring 2012 is just around the corner! Last year, over 450 volunteers completed over 70 projects at many local non-profit organizations during our annual Week of Caring. We need your help to make this year's event an even greater success for the organizations in our community.
CAP Council prepared and served a meal at Lafayette Transitional Housing Center during Week of Caring 2011
If you are an agency, you can start submitting projects by going to the website and filling out the Project Proposal Form . Projects are due by August 3rd to the United Way Volunteer Center.
If you want to participate, put together a team and projects will be available online on August 9th!
