Breathwork Meditation Seminar

     04/25/2012 - 04/26/2012 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

According to respiratory research, a 20% reduction in oxygen blood levels may be caused by the aging process and normal breathing habits. Poor breathing robs energy and negatively affects mental alertness. Unless breathing is exercised, aging effects the respiratory system through stiffness. The rib cage and surrounding muscles get stiff causing inhalation to become more difficult. Less elasticity and weak muscles leave stale air in the tissues of the lungs and prevents fresh oxygen from reaching the blood stream.

Once you develop Breathwork techniques by practicing it every day, it will be a very useful tool that you will always have with you. Use Breathwork whenever anything upsetting happens - before you react. Use Breathwork whenever you are aware of internal tension. Use Breathwork to help you fall asleep. This exercise cannot be recommended too highly. Everyone can benefit.

F.I.R.E is proud to present our Breathwork/Meditation Seminar. The seminar is a two-day experience that will teach various breathing techniques and the benefits of understanding the breathing process. Previous students have experience high levels of emotional release, relaxation, spiritual enlightenment, and personal awareness. The process is life-altering as the techniques can be employed at-will and virtually in any setting.

LEARN FROM LEADERS
public speaker

EFIT offers students the opportunity to have a wealth of information presented from esteemed speakers.  Some of our past speakers have included:

Krish Dhanam: Joined the Zig Ziglar Corporation in the sales department in October of 1991. Through speaking and teaching the timeless principles of its legendary founder Zig Ziglar, Krish soon embarked on a career that has seen him facilitate workshops and conduct seminars all over the world. His current assignments include functioning as Vice President of Consulting and Business Development for Ziglar True Performance and Co-founder of Krish Dhanam Training International.

As a writer he has authored articles on a range of topics spanning from personal relationships to corporate change. Recognized by his peers as a dynamic personality, Krish says that sharing a stage with a President pales in comparison to watching a movie with his son.

Krish will teach two days of hands on speaking, training and coaching. No matter what your current level of public speaking proficiency is, you will leave a better speaker.

Nick Vujicic: is an Australian preacher and motivational speaker born with Tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs. As a child, he struggled mentally and emotionally, as well as physically, but eventually came to terms with his disability and, at the age of seventeen, started his own non-profit organization, Life Without Limbs. Vujicic presents motivational speeches worldwide, on life with a disability, hope, and finding meaning in life.

Tom Niesen: Founder and CEO of Acuity Training Systems, Inc. Tom can frequently be found on the road conducting in-house workshops for major corporations. He is regularly asked to assist in training and development of sales trainers nationwide. Tom teaches non-traditional client development, negotiating, and business development to thousands of professionals in over 260 industries. In a recent Magazine article "Sales Superstars" 4 of the 8 listed were clients of Acuity Training Systems. Tom has conducted seminars for such companies as Quaker Oats, Minolta, Lucent, Fuji Film and McDonalds. Tom is presently working on his Ph.D. at Dallas Baptist University. Tom has been featured in radio and print. Tom Niesen was also 1999 Dallas Man of the Year.

Jeff Crilley: An Emmy Award winning TV reporter in Dallas. During his 20 years in television news he has made hundreds of national news appearances including CNN, CNN Headline News, FOX News, The Discovery Channel, Good Morning America and The CBS Early Show. He now has his own PR Firm.

He has been recognized by his peers with dozens of national and regional awards including the Emmy, the National Headliners Award, the Edward R. Murrow Award, the Thurgood Marshall Award and has just been named by the Texas Associated Press, "The Best TV Reporter in the state."

As a general assignment reporter he covers a wide range of topics from presidential elections to Spam cooking contests at the State Fair. His day-to-day news gathering experience has given him special insight into what the news covers and why.

In Jeff's Lecture and Book you will learn

  • How to write a killer press release!
  • How to come up with ideas guaranteed to get coverage for your business.
  • Who to call and when.
  • What to say during the interview.
  • How to hold a news conference the media will love.
  • How to combat negative news.
  • How to keep reporters coming back for more.

Jeff does not speak in generalities. He says, "Do this and it will work!"

Tammy Kling: An international author (37 books), writer for corporations, blogger, and coach to the coaches. She helps guide people to the next level. As a literary coach, Tammy pitches books, writes proposals, white papers, and corporate articles and content. Her business articles reach audiences of 100,000 plus.

Speaker's Corner - Talking Techniques

By: Kevin Axtell

10 tips

As Firewalking Instructors, we are all speakers. When we present the firewalk and other breakthrough activities to groups, we must speak effectively. The ability to effectively communicate will help participants have a more meaningful experience at your event. Delivering clear and concise instruction will also help to keep the group as safe as possible during advanced exercises.

Being a great speaker takes a lifetime of study and practice. Seeking out formal training is highly advised. Even so, every little bit helps! Below are ten easy-to-remember tips to help you grow as an effective communicator.

Vary your Approach

Use a variety of techniques to keep your message interesting, and to get through to different types of people, change your approach frequently using: power points - monologues - dialogues - group activities - breakthrough events - volunteers, whiteboards, workbooks, be creative and change it up!

Think of your presentation as a melody

An interesting melody has lots of variety.  Ups, downs, builds, crescendos, and transitions.  Remember, random notes thrown together do not sound good. Make sure your presentation has   continuity and flow..

Refresh your purpose

Ask yourself before you go on why you are doing this - remind and refresh your purpose mentally and spiritually before you go out in front of the group. Carry your purpose into the presentation with you, let that purpose shine through you for all in the group to see.

Film and critique yourself

Watching yourself on video, while challenging, is one of the best things we can do improve as speakers. Seek peer review and find people to critique you. Be willing to hear the truth.

Practice Everyday

Look for opportunities to speak to people in your everyday life, with family, friends, at work, or even on the phone.  Be conscious of how well you are communicating to the people in your life. Practice quality eye contact. "Speak their language."

Everything has a point, so point to it

Have purpose behind everything you do in a presentation. Avoid rambling and run-on sentences.  Sequence your activities and keep the bigger picture in mind.

Example - A fun group focus activity at the beginning of an event.

Purpose - Improves group's ability to pay attention and to cut down on distractions

Example - Get the group to stand up and lead a group stretch for 2 minutes

Purpose - Renew and refresh energy after a long period of sitting

Keep Your Quiver Full

Here is a tip from world-renowned speaker Krish Dhanam.  Develop several stories from your own life experiences.  Write down the who, what, where, why, when, and how of each story.  Develop a 1 minute, 3 minute, and 5 minute version of each story for you to use when and where you need them. Each time you tell the story it will improve, until you have a quiver full of meaningful stories to draw upon for your presentation.

Pump yourself up before you go on

Put a big smile on your face, laugh heartily, do jumping jacks, do a chant! "I feel great today......!" The group will sense the positive energy.

Show Emotion

Take a stance.  Be a personality.  Being politically correct is important but can dilute your message.  Be emotional but balanced.

First impressions are BIG

Think about how you are presenting yourself in the moments before and after your formal appearance.  Be conscious about subject matter and rapport when talking informally to participants before the event. Rehearse your opening thoroughly; always remember, first impressions can last a lifetime.

I hope these ten simple tips will help you to better communicate your message to all those out there who need to hear what you have to say.

Remember speakers,

Be on, Be good, Be gone!
