Friends,

We are preparing for a mobilization like none other, where all 1200+ United Ways, 240 2-1-1 Call Centers and our partners (AIRS, GCL, WLC, Leadership 18) will receive a direct call to action to contact their members of Congress the day before the floor vote on H.R.211. If the bill is placed on the suspension calendar, 1) we will only receive 1-3 days notice and 2) we will need an additional 45 votes or so, as a 2/3 majority is required. (We have 246 co-sponsors, but some have retired.) 

As early as tomorrow, we will be sending out the call to action, including instructions for how to contact your members of Congress.  We will make it as easy as possible, and we would ask that you not only participate, but forward it on to your connections, board members and partners.  The end of the legislative session is one week from today, so we ask that within 24 hours of receiving the message, you take action by contacting your legislators and forwarding the message to your network of contacts.

This may be the last opportunity to get the Calling for 2-1-1 act passed before the end of the session.  We need your help.  Stay tuned to your email for the green light to make this final push, and bring all of our hard work to fruition.
