Dear Reiki Friends,
Bill and I have been talking for some time about putting together a periodic newsletter to share information about upcoming classes, meetings, festivals and other good things that are related to Reiki and just interesting events that we uncover in our journey. We hope that you enjoy our first issue. We'll keep them short! We'll also ocassionally share some of the beautiful photographs that Bill has taken on trips to China, Tibet, Hawaii and other places.
We hope you enjoy a little Reiki news in your day !!

Love Forever
On all of the large Taoist mountains in China, there is a thick cable strung along the edges of the cliffs. Many are completely covered with brass padlocks. Lovers and spouses buy padlocks on the mountain, lock it onto the cable and throw the key over the cliff, believing that their relationship will remain intact as long as the lock is on the cable. (Wouldn't it be great if it was that easy!) Some couples bring custom engraved locks along with them. However, the government has to remove the locks periodically to make room for more. This large lock was cast from thousands of smaller ones. There are a few locations outside of China where people follow the same custom (mainly on bridges). I took this picture when I was in China several years ago, along with about a thousand more! Many of them have been published in an International Taoist magazine.

Reiki Level I and II Classes
Mary Lynn and I will be teaching two Reiki Classes through the City's Wellness Program this Spring. They will include the popular Reiki Level One on April 1st and 8th from 1 to 4 pm (participants need to attend both sessions) and our first Reiki Level Two class on May 13 from 1-5 pm. Participants can sign up through City University. Here is the Enrollment Form. If you have taken Reiki Level One elsewhere and would like to expand your skills with Reiki Level Two, please join us. We will be attuning students to work with emotional/mental healing and distance healing methods, along with lots of practice. (Non City employees may take the class for $25, but City employees get first choice and there is usually a waiting list.)

Medical Qigong Healing
I experienced an amazing form of energy healing last Sarurday that was new to me. There was a lot of energy moving in my whole body; it felt great. Brad is really excellent and he explains this form of healing best in his own words: "Medical Qigong (Chi Kung, Qi Gong, or Chi Gong) is the theory and practice of Qi Cultivation for the purpose of healing and balancing the major internal organs according to Chinese Energetic Medicine." He can also tell you which of your energy channels needs help. For more information, visit Brad and Lori's website. (The picture isn't of Brad - this is a Taoist Master and Priest in China.)
