YOUR VOTE could help win a $10,000 Odwalla grant for East Palo Alto schools.

Through its 2012 Plant a Tree program, Odwalla is donating $10,000 to worthy nonprofits. California ReLeaf and Canopy's Healthy Trees, Healthy Kids! project is a finalist for a $10k grant.

 

Canopy aims to use the funds to plant 114 trees on the campus of Brentwood Academy in East Palo Alto and bring much needed shade to its 500 students.

Celebrate Earth Day by photographing a tree that's meaningful to you.

 

Step outside and photograph your favorite tree. Your photo can become part of The Palo Alto forest, an art installation by Angela Buenning Filo. Follow the link below to upload your image and add it to an impressive collection of community pictures and thoughts about beloved trees. Enjoy Sprinkles' Earth Day cupcakes and support Canopy's local tree plantings. 

 

Proceeds from all sales of Sprinkles' vanilla cupcakes, between April 16 and 20, will be donated to Canopy. Last year, Sprinkles donated $3,150 to Canopy from Earth Day cupcake sales.  

Sprinkles gourmet cupcakes are a sophisticated update on an American classic, handcrafted from the finest ingredients. This year's vanilla cupcake is made from Madagascar Bourbon vanilla cake with creamy vanilla frosting.

Clean Green Street Scene Earth Day event.

Celebrate Earth Day at the Clean Green Street Scene event in downtown Palo Alto at Lytton Plaza. Canopy, along with other green nonprofits, will have an educational table at the gathering.  








Whole Foods Nickels for Canopy and Earth Day celebration.
Saturday, April 21, 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM

 

Bring your own bag to shop at Whole Foods Palo Alto and help plant local trees! Until May 6th, Whole Foods will donate a nickel to Canopy for each reusable bag used. Click here for more info. 


Eco-Home ribbon cutting and tours.

Join Canopy at a the opening of a unique demonstration home filled with the latest efficient, sustainable and conserving technologies. Dozens of innovative ideas will be on display including blue jeans insulation, recycled glass counter-tops and cloverleaf solar panels. Engaging signs provide details about actions, costs and savings. Located next to the Girl Scout House, the EcoHome will continue to be available throughout the year for guided tours.
