Dear Friend,

As we countdown to a new year, we offer a Top 10 Countdown* of reasons to support Canopy:

10. Trees highlight the seasons
In winter, spring, summer, or fall trees tell all. Just look outside!

9. Trees beautify and lend privacy
Trees reduce glare and block unsightly soundwalls, buildings, and parking-lots.

8. Trees increase property values
Studies have shown a 1%+ increase in home price with a mature tree.

7. Trees are great teachers and playmates
As children, teenagers, and adults, we learn and grow with trees.

6. Trees increase business traffic
Studies show increased patronage of shopping areas with shade trees.

5. Trees provide wildlife habitat
Native insects, local and migratory birds need trees in urban areas.

4. Trees provide food
Fruit and nut trees are a source of fresh and nutritious food.

3. Trees combat global warming and cool our cities
Trees reduce atmospheric levels of CO2, and lessen the "heat-island effect."

2. Trees provide oxygen and clean the air
In one year an acre of mature trees can provide clean air for 18 people.

1. Trees build community character
Trees contribute to neighborhood identity and a sense of place.

Thanks to all of you who have made a gift this year.  We are grateful for your partnership and encouragement!  If you have not
