Are You Ready...
...To Unleash The Power of Music?

Music can build us up, bring us closer together, and help us realize our dreams.  It shares our thoughts, our feelings, our emotions through a song.

At The Phoenix Conservatory of Music, we know that music is a way for us to grow, to learn, and to play together.  We experience creativity, process based thinking, and problem solving.  We can use music as a tool to fulfill our potential: as community, as educators, as families, and as people.

Last year, PCM worked with over 2,000 students in weekly programs, and 46 community partners from Aguila to Chandler, all over the metro Phoenix area.  We worked with teen moms and babies through senior citizens and made life a little brighter and more joyous through music.  We taught 173 programs in guitar, voice, piano and early childhood programs in the community.  We had over 30 no cost programs in afterschool locations and in underserved communities.  We taught programs and private lessons for over 200 students at our own center.

This year, PCM is launching exciting new programs like..
PCM's Affiliation with the
Berklee City Music Network Logo

We are paving the way for kids to become more successful in music!  As a Berklee City Music Network Affiliate, we will be able to give our students, 4th through 12th grades, the opportunity to experience PULSE- an online interactive college preparatory learning tool at no additional cost to them!

From a six week class to private lessons, after school programs and residencies, our students will have access to this world class resource!

The best part of this program is that every year, two of our students will have the opportunity to audition for the 5 week Berklee Summer Institute (Think Camp Rock on Steroids) and receive a full scholarship to attend!

This year, we have 3 nominated students who are working hard to get ready for auditions:

Kiley Kratzenberg, Voice
Nick Garzon, Guitar
Isabella Perrino, Piano

These three students will audition in February 2011 for this life changing experience!

PCM's Youth Ensembles
PCM Youth Choir
The Phoenix Conservatory of Music is excited about the creation of our youth ensembles with the PCM Youth Choir, a group of about 30 students, 7th through 12th grades in the Northwest Valley, who want to deepen their learning in music using contemporary music and innovative ideas about playing together.

These students will integrate the Berklee PULSE Music Method into their learning and have great vocal music accompanied by students on guitar, piano, bass, percussion, clarinet and violin.

Our other Performing Youth Ensemble is Sound wAvZ; a vocal jazz ensemble with 10-16 students 7th-12th grades that sing in jazz harmonies, many times acapella, and tour the community putting on performances!   All of these students are getting amazing experience in learning about music and being a professional musician.
PCM's Work with Partner Organizations to Collaborate and Create!

The Phoenix Conservatory of Music is all about playing with others.  We know that in these tough times, we have to be creative and innovative, and willing to work together for common goals.

One of our collaborative programs is with Ear Candy Charity.  It is a pilot program funded by The Scottsdale Cultural Council and The Scottsdale League of the Arts; to create a model after school program that explores the concept of a Rock Band while teaching kids how to play instruments through a drop in program at The Scottsdale Civic Center Library.

The Phoenix Conservatory of Music and Ear Candy are exploring ways of creating new business models together through this exciting project that can be transformative for out of school time programs and our organizations.  We are blessed to be assisted in our efforts with local Non-Profit Guru, Herb Paine, and with  funding from The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust.

When you contribute to PCM, you are supporting our community by:
  • Growing outreach programs in the community
  • Integrating the Amazing Berklee PULSE Music Method into all of our programs
  • Launching our PCM Scholarship Fund for underserved students
  • Sending 2 students to the Berklee Summer Institute for 5 weeks for an experience that will change their lives forever!

As part of our commitment to providing quality music learning programs in the community, we need your help to meet an ever growing community need.  As funding on a state and federal level for community programs and school arts programs continue to be reduced, the work that is being done by organizations like The Phoenix Conservatory of Music are becoming the workable solution.  Programs like PCM's are becoming a higher priority for schools and families.  Our programs can bridge the gap by providing quality music education.

These programs are important.  Music can truly unleash our potential as individuals, families, and communities.  We ask you to invest in our community by supporting PCM in unleashing the power of music.  There are many ways that you can give:
