YMCA Youth Basketball League

YBL Logo

The 2008-09 Youth Basketball League kick's off this November and will run through March 2009. YBL is for children in grades 1 - 8. All players will experience fun, fitness and fair play while learning and improving skills in dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and game theory. The core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are stressed.

· Skill assessments are a part of the YBL season and allow cordinators to evaluate players in order to make teams as fair as possible. All signed-up participants are guaranteed to make a roster. Skill assessments for grades 1-4 will take place November 7 and 14, 2008. Assessments for grades 5-8 will be held November 8 and 15.

· Volunteer coaches are vital in allowing the league to run. If you would like to coach, referee or supervise, please contact YBL Coordinator Drew Richardson at 708-434-0235.

· The league includes area high school drills, qualified instructors, IHSA certified referees, guest speakers, individual evaluations, and national and local business sponsorships.

· There will be a Skills Competition in February as well as All-Star traveling teams!

· Sign-up is going on now! Spaces fill up fast!

· YBL is sponsored by the Jr. NBA, Jr. WNBA, The Chicago Sky™, and Powerade™.
