As a part of the 2008 Les Duke Invitational (the 46th annual!), all men's cross country runners, including members of Grinnell's 23 men's Midwest Conference championship cross country teams, are invited to come to Grinnell for a special alumni weekend! For the first time, all runners who have been a part of an amazing run of championships have been invited to return on the same weekend! Spread the word to your former teammates. Let's get a great return on this special event!
Grinnell College Cross Country Alumni Weekend
September 12-13, 2008

 This year's Les Duke field may be the largest ever. Grinnell will be the host for the NCAA Central Regional on November 15, and many top regional teams will be attending. We expect nearly 30 schools.
  • A special pre-race Friday dinner will join current and former runners. Past runners will share stories of their time at Grinnell.
  • All former and current runners (and their families) will be invited to the Freemans' home for a special post-race pizza picnic.
  • All returnees will receive a special commemorative T-shirt and Grinnell CC coffee mug.
Please reply by September 8, 2008, if you are planning on attending. It is very important that we get a fix on the total number of attendees for the event. The cost of the event is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt, mug, and meals for each participant.  Blocks of rooms have been reserved at both the Best Western Pioneer Inn  (641-236-6116) and the Country Inn (641-236-9600, 800-456-4000).  You will be responsible for reserving your own lodging. 

We hope you will make plans to be a part of this special event!! It's time you saw your teammates again...and to meet other wonderful runners from a wonderful history of Grinnell CC!
