Ready to Serve?

 

From special events to Sundays, we have so many ways to serve, big and small, but all important! 

 

Teachers -- We are in need of two teams of teachers. As a teacher, you will serve two Sundays a month with adult helpers.   

 

Special Events -- Trunk 'r Treat needs table hosts, setup help, cleanup help, games and raffle help. A Birthday Party for Jesus needs games, crafts, missions, cupcake, setup and cleanup help.   
 
Invite, Invite Invite!

It always seems like fall flies by in a hurry! We have so many wonderful opportunities coming quickly that will be great events to invite friends, family and neighbors! Don't forget that we need your help to make all of these fantastic opportunities happen. We always have before, during and after the event opportunities to serve.    

 

This year, we are looking forward to having a Birthday Party for Jesus. This event will be similar to the Santa's Workshop event. We will decorate cupcakes, sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, make crafts, and have a special mission project.

W.O.W. Wednesday
Wild on Wednesdays, 6:00-7:45 p.m.
       

WOW Wednesdays would like to thank Nicole Brant and her family for their service here at Platte Woods UMC. The Brant family will be moving to Florida at the end of this month. Please take a moment to say thank you!

 

A 10-hour-per-week coordinator position is now open for either Wednesday night or Sunday night Children's Ministry coordination. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Jessica.

Children's Ministry Registration

New registration forms will be needed this year for all children's activities.  Please be sure to fill out a new form. Forms may be found at the church or online.

 

Third Grade Bible Sunday

The third graders will receive their Bibles on Sunday, October 14 at 9:30 a.m.  Details about Bible Sunday have already been sent: if you have not received this information by mail, e-mail or both, please contact Pastor Jessica.

  

Third Grade Overnight

The third grade class will have a community-building overnight event November 9 at 7 p.m. to November 10 at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed in order to have this event: please sign up here.   

 

Acolyte Training

If you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader who is interested in being an acolyte, plan to attend our brief meeting after the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday, October 21. This meeting will be in the sanctuary.

NEXT Kids 
5-6 p.m. -- All ages
6:45-7:45 p.m. -- Faith Fusion (4th/5th Youth Group)

 

NEXT Kids will travel the Wilderness Trail and learn to "Respect Everyone"

4th/5th Grade Youth Group will not meet on Sunday, October 28. Instead, you are encouraged to participate or help with Trunk 'r Treat earlier on the 28th from 3:00-4:45 p.m.

Sunbeams Preschool/ PDO Info

 After-School care is available to Sunbeams families until 4:30.  Please see Jennifer Nelson to sign up.
