Welcome and Hello!

It is a joy to introduce our new Children's Ministry Newsletter! I am also extremely excited and blessed to be joining with you in ministry. I look forward to continuing to get to know you and your family and to find ways that we can serve God together.

 

We have many exciting things coming up in Children's Ministry. The Easter Egg Hunt is coming soon on Saturday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. and donations of filled eggs are still needed for this event. A new youth group for 4th & 5th graders kicks off on Sunday, April 15 from 6:45-7:30 p.m. VBS is also on its way! This year, we have two exciting opportunities for VBS. An evening VBS will be held on Wednesday nights May 30-June 27 (6-8 p.m.), and daytime VBS will be July 9-13 (9 a.m.-12 noon). Don't forget to Save the Date and spread the word for our exciting upcoming events!

W.O.W Wednesday
Wild on Wednesdays, 6:00-7:45 p.m.

WOW Wednesday is in full swing. We meet from 6:00-7:45 to do Bible study, craft, music, and sports/dance. Any child age 3 (and potty trained) to 5th grade can join at any time.

 

On March 11,  Preschoolers-5th grade will be singing at the end of 8:15, and the beginning of 9:30 and 11:00 church services. We will not be having Wednesday night activities on March 21 for Spring Break. We always need adult helpers: if anyone would like to help the kids in any way please let Nicole Brant (913-515-8880) know. We have a huge need for a person or a couple of people who would like to learn how to run the soundboard so that we can have a Children's sound person. If this is something you are interested in let Nicole know.

The Armor of God

February we finished up a theme on The Armor of God.Here are a few pictures from this fantastic unit.Don't forget to visit the armor-filled hallways!

"Therefore take up the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness.  As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace.  With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."  Ephesians 6:13-17

During Lent we are participating in the churchwide study of The Story.  Stay tuned for an update!

NEXT Kids went to the next level with their study this month as they learned to "Be Strong in the Lord" (Ephesians 6:10). This month, we will be studying The Art of Prayer.
 
4th/5th Grade Youth Group will be having a fun-filled kickoff on Sunday, April 15. This group will engage in missions in our community, play games, and have engaging Bible studies. All current 4th and 5th graders are invited to join us, along with our incoming 4th graders (current 3rd graders) as we kick off this group and plan ahead for exciting events for the summer and fall!
