Get a Top Man T-shirt & Run for CALM

tm

Get in training now for the two 10K runs that CALM buys places for, in Manchester and London - or just apply for a place in any of the sponsored runs, and we'll send you a specially designed CALM t-shirt.

We've bought 30 places in the British London 10k run; a lovely run which takes in all the sights of London.    A couple of these places have been promised already, so if you want to run for CALM - let us know.

Creamfields 2007

Since Creamfields 2006 it's clear now that CALM has had a huge impact on the people they met last year at the event.  As we headed up to Liverpool for the 2007 festival, the list of artists arranging interviews with us was incredible.

As supporters of CALM, the Cream organisers did everything to let us spread the word, giving us a great spot to plant our camera base and all the backstage passes we could handle!

With a line up including The Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada and Mark Ronson, we knew we were in for a great day, but I don't think any of us could have predicted how supportive and open some of the artists would be.

Annie Mac, New Young Pony Club, James Zabiela and Rob Tissera were just some of the artists who answered our challenging questions about life, love and what making music means to them with brutal honesty.  Anton Powers told us openly about his recent struggles dealing with loss and DJ Yousef described the importance he places on music in his personal life.

We were filming onstage with Zabiela, hanging out talking future projects with Kelis' band and standing awe struck at The Chemical Brother's light show.

The final word came from those guys and it hit the spot perfectly, not ones for huge discussions they simply projected out for the whole of the place to see "Love is All" - genius.

StrongNotSilent Music

Nick Tate and Anstey have been working hard on www.strongnotsilentmusic.com, C.A.L.M's very own download site offering exclusive tracks and songs that can only be bought via this website with 100% of all sales going direct to the cause.  They've got a map of how the site will work together with an impressive list of DJs, producers et al who can either help donate unique tracks to the site or who will help in other ways.  Contact nftate88@hotmail.com or Claire Anstey claire@claireanstey.co.uk for more info...

We've applied to Comic Relief for a grant to match this Appeal  We will hear on 28th November.

James Walsh

Maggie Day organised her third annual funding raising evening for CALM in memory of her son James.  Well attended, with a Take That Tribute band and as ever a fantastic array of raffle and auction prizes the evening was a night to remember.  As ever family and friends chipped in to help both in organising the night and the night itself.  And the event raised a hair's breadth under £5,000 - going to show what a generous community this is.   A moving, funny, sad, humbling evening.

A Search Engine with a Heart

A clever new search engine has launched with the aim to share its revenues with people's nominated charity.

It's called
www.everyclick.com and you can nominate CALM as your charity of choice. Basically whereas Google keep all their profits to themselves, this search engine shares 50% with the charity. So get all your mates to ditch Google and start using Everyclick.  Thank you Ben Hedges for this.

If you've seen some pretty cool leaflets around Merseyside CALMzone, this is down to an inspired young man Michael Snowden who came to CALM with a barrow load of great graphics.  Which will also be seen in some cool boutiques around Mersey.
