Look for Girls Day Out
with Roxanne Carter at Quilted Strait

Roxanne Carter has been a traditional quilt maker for over twenty five years having spent the last 20 years as a quilting instructor in the great Pacific Northwest.
Roxanne has authored four quilting books published by That Patchwork Place and has designs in many other books and magazines.  Quilting instruction and pattern designing is now a full-time occupation for her.
Roxanne maintains 33 monthly "Girls Night Out" or Girls Day Out" classes where students attend once a month to work on a project, either in local shops or in my home studio. Her newest Girls Day Out will be at Quilted Strait.
Her passion is to take an existing design and come up with ways of making it easier to construct, or come up with a new design altogether.  She has a great enthusiasm for quilting and shares this enthusiasm with all her students, from beginners to advanced.

find my fabric

You know how it goes...you just need another half yard, the shop you bought it from is out, and you don't have the number on the selvedge any more. With FindMyFabric.com,  now all you need is a picture. Upload a photo or a scan of your fabric.to this website and find your fabric.

Fabric Search Engine

How many quilter's have promised themselves that this year, yes this year, I will use up some of the fabric in my stash before I buy any more?  According to the official quilting rules as long as you are actively work on a quilt from your stash you can start as many new projects as you want.

We are here to help you. Beginning this month - each newsletter will have a free Serious Stash block pattern for you - designed to use up your stash.  This month's pattern is focused on color. This is a simple to sew pattern, designed to use 2 1/2" strips, and because the pattern focuses on using color groups, this is a good way to blend a variety of fabrics from your stash using color as the coordinating element.

On the news front, we are all thrilled, excited and honored I to have been chosen as the one of the Quilt Sampler magazines top ten shops for 2012. Our shop will appear in the spring edition of the magazine, which will hit the newsstands in May 2012.

In celebration of the event, over the next year, we will be using the shop blog to humbly acknowledge  the dozens of folks who make the shop hum and even sing out loud. Drop in to meet the employees, pattern makers, teachers and sample makers as well as the folks who work behind the scenes making sure the orders get shipped, the kits get cut and the website keeps current.

piecefully,
Kris
